Ode to Tim

Here’s to the quiet ones.

The early risers, the dependables. The sharp edged right angles that fit perfectly in corners.

The ones who see things for what they are. They steward accountability. And they march forward relentlessly to the beat.

You do not have to quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can do is admire them as they win. Because they keep things moving and build cultures of excellence. They keep the human race worth pushing forward.

And while some may see them as the boring ones, we see quiet mastery. Because the people who are disciplined enough to scale the impossible, are the ones who make it real. 

I hope they write enough case studies on Tim Cook. We don’t talk enough about his Yan to Jobs’s Yin.
